Do we have a Minimum Common Denominator?/ Tenemos un Mínimo Común Denominador?

A few days ago, I was asked if we, the survivors, have a Minimum Common Denominator; if we can trace some traits of our personality or character to our ordeal in the Andes.

It is not a question with an easy answer. I have always said that we have followed different paths, and lived different lives. But in the end we are quite the same, we all come from the same social environment, we are almost the same age, we have similar education and we share a common culture. And also, because we are all alive, healthy and living fruitful and normal lives. We have things in common, and probably, halfway through in our lives, we are returning to our common root: the Andes.

But, has the accident impacted on our lives in a similar way? Do we have an "Andes Minimum Common Denominator"? Actually, I don´t know. The one person that might know that answer is Pablo Vierci who is writing a book with the 16 testimonies of the survivors. He is the person in the world that knows us best. I will ask him what he thinks about it.


Tenemos un Mínimo Común Denominador?

Hace unos días, me preguntaron si nosotros los sobrevivientes, tenemos un Mínimo Común Denominador, si podemos distinguir algunas características común de nuestra personalidad o carácter y adjudicarla a la tragedia de los Andes.

No es una pregunta fácil para responder. Siempre he dicho que hemos seguido caminos distintos, que hemos vivido vidas distintas. Pero al final, somos bastantes parecidos, venimos de un mismo ambiente social, tenemos más o menos la misma edad, tenemos una educación similar y compartimos una cultura. Y también, porque estamos todos sanos y hemos vivido vidas normales y fructíferas. Tenemos muchas cosas en común, y ahora, en la mitad de nuestras vidas, estamos volviendo a nuetra raíz común: los Andes.

Pero el accidente ha impactado en nuestras vidas de una forma similar? Existe el Mínimo Común Denominador de los Andes? La verdad es que no lo se. La persona que probablemente sepa sobre es Pablo Vierci, quien está escribiendo un libro en base a los testimonios actuales de los 16 sobrevivientes. Creo que es la persona que mejor nos conoce en el mundo. Le voy a preguntar que opina sobre el tema.
